We all agree that life will be boring if we only work, that's why we need to have a hobby. It
makes us feel happy. It helps us to spend our free time in a good way. As for me, my favourite
hobby is reading. I go to the school library twice a week. There, the librarian helps me choose
which books and stories to read. I prefer history books and adventure stories. I also go to the
bookshop to buy a new book or a new story. When I get a new book, I read it and write a
review about it. I tell my friends about all new things I have learned. I usually enter reading
competitions in my school and sometimes on the internet. I once won a prize.

We all like going on holidays. After a long time of hard work, people all over the world like
spending their holidays on beaches. Among the well-known places, Hurghada is the most
wonderful. People who are lucky enough to be there get very excited. They like the sunny
weather. Being on the Red Sea coast makes them enjoy snorkelling and diving. People can do
other water sports. They can water-ski, go sailing or go fishing. They can go on sea trips. They
spend wonderful time in the most beautiful place on the Red Sea. Holidays are our best way to
relax.

Have you ever climbed a mountain ? Have you ever eaten a snake ? In fact, everyone in life
has their own special experience that I will never forget is when a friend of mine invited me
to have lunch at his house. This friend lives in Marsa Matrouh. I travelled and had a very
delicious meal. It was grilled meat and I was very happy with the food. When I finished, I
asked him what kind of meat that we had. To my surprise, he told me it was meat of a snake! I
told him how come ! After that I knew it is easy to have snakes for meals at Matrouh.
Another experience is when I travelled in a truck and an officer on the road stopped me and
took me to the police station. He thought I was a criminal. After my parents came, I was set
free.

we must arrive at school on time. If we are late, the headmaster calls our parents. We must
wear a uniform. We must listen to our teachers. We must be polite. We must do our

Doing a job is very important in everyone's life. We can't live without working or doing a
certain job. I’d like to be an engineer. I have many skills. I am good at maths. In addition, I am
good at English. I could speak English when I was seven years old. Furthermore, I could do
difficult sums when I was young. I hope to join faculty of engineering and become an engineer
one day. I want to help my country in building new cities, new roads, new bridges and dams. It
is not an easy job, but it is very important these days. To conclude, everyone should work hard
at school to get a good job in the future.10

There are many kinds of sports. The most common sports are football, basketball,
volleyball, tennis, skiing, swimming and cycling. Sports have great value in our life. They are
very important for keeping us healthy. People who are used to practising sports usually enjoy
good health. They are always active and do their jobs well. Sports are a good way of spending
our spare time. Sports help us gain good qualities such as patience, cooperation and how to
face difficult problems and situations . Sports teach us good manners and develop our
character. Some sports help us to defend ourselves such as karate and judo. In fact, sports
are very essential for us.

It is said that situations are the best teacher. When I was young, I had adream to be the
best student in English because I love my English teacher and healways encourages me. After
school, I always saved my pocket money to buyEnglish books of higher levels than I'm in. I
always read these books, wrote my notes and talked to myself in English. I've learnt all about
grammar, vocabulary and writing paragraphs. My class teacher asked me to talk in English in
the morning school broadcasting. All my friends admired me and told me that I'm the
best at English. I've decided to be an English teacher when I grow up
48-Helping people in my community مساعدة الناس فى المجتمع
I think our community is a part of our life and it is a must to cooperate for it and for solving
the problems it suffers from. At my school, there are some students who have disabilities at
different parts of their bodies. Some can't move, while others can't see well. I thought and
thought about them and at last I had an idea for helping them. I went to the school
headmaster and suggested a way to lighten the burdens of them and their parents for coming
at school. I suggested all students in all classes at school should donate money for building a
special area for them and making special roads without stairs for them.
49-Community project مشروع مجتمعى
We all love our community and want to give services to help improve it. I and some of my
friends decided to meet to discuss how to do a project to help our community. At our meeting,
we decided to start a local charity, where people can donate food to families who need it. We
got some ideas from a network for our project. Everyone in our community should be
cooperative and helpful. We can design pages on the internet, call for anyone who can help us.
We need volunteers to help us plan and complete this project. Please, we should not
neglect that to be a developed country and improve our community
50-Welcome to Aswan! مرحبا ً بك فى أسوان
Visitors to Egypt should visit Aswan, in the south of Egypt. You can visit the Nubian Museum
there. Many important and historical things were moved to the. museum in the 1960's. You
should visit Aswan's bazaar, too. Many things are sold here, for example clothes, nuts and
fruit, flowers and baskets. Everyone should also take a trip on one of feluccas to see the
beautiful Nile River. Many tourists visit the amazing nearby temples of Philae and Kalabsha.
You should take a good camera. Many photographs are taken at Elephantine Island. It has this
name because the rocks next to the island look like elephants that are swimming in the Nile.
There is a tourist information center near the railway station.11
51-An amazing exhibition معرض رائع
One day last week, our teacher handed out some information about an exhibition in London,
where I live. He said that we should go if we were interested in history. The exhibition had
historic jewellery and statues which are from the time of Tutankhamun. My friend Alex, who
know that I love history, said, "Revising history will be easier if we go." So we both decided to
go at the weekend. The exhibition was set up in a huge, famous building where people could see
the amazing jewels, art and statues from different museums in Egypt. Before it arrived in
London, the exhibition travelled to four other cities, where thousands of people came to see
it. I was very excited to see everything.
52-Tourist activities:أنشطة السیاح
Egypt is a great country in the north of Africa. Tourists come to Egypt from all over the
world. They come to Egypt every year. They like visiting Egypt for many reasons. It has many
places of interest. They like going to Hurghada. They go snorkelling there. Some of them go
scuba diving. Others like fishing. They have a great time. They also visit the Egyptian Museum
in Cairo. It has many statues inside it. They like to visit the Pyramids. They ride camels and
horses. Tourists can take many photos there. Cairo Tower is a beautiful place. They can enjoy
the beautiful view of the Nile. They can visit the citadel and enjoy their time. There are also
four museums in the citadel. They can visit several mosques, too. They come back home
happily.
53-STEM schools مدارس ستیم
STEM schools (science, technology, engineering and maths) are special schools which focus
on developing students’ ability in these subjects. Students who are very good at STEM
subjects can also help develop the technology of the future. There are now STEM schools
around the world where lessons are different to those in usual schools. Teachers encourage
students to do projects where they work together to solve problems. In Egypt, there are now
STEM schools around the country and more will be built in the future. STEM school students
must be hardworking. Experts say that there will be many more jobs in the future that need
skills in STEM subjects. you will be lucky if you enter these schools.
54-Reading- your favourite hobby القراءة / الھوایة المفضلة
No one can deny that reading is one of the most useful hobbies for all of us ,so I am going to
focus on the importance of reading Most of us know that reading is the food for our brains.
Some like reading paper books, others like reading online which is called e-books. For me
reading is my favourite hobby. I like reading in my free time. I read at the library. I get much
information. I also read online, so I like reading e-books. There many kinds of books such as
adventure stories which provide us with a lot of suspense. Historical books have much exciting
information about the past. I like reading detective stories to solve some problems
55-My school library مكتبة المدرسة
We all agree that the school library plays a great role in our life. They have a lot of books in
all subjects. Our school has a very beautiful library. It is on the second floor next to the lab.
It also has a computer. I go there twice a week. I can read and borrow books there. I like
reading short stories. The librarian helps us there. She shows us where to find the books we
need and tells us to be quiet . she also asks us to keep it clean . I like going there very much.
Reading enriches our minds. It helps us to think clearly.12
56-The Olympic Games: الالعاب الألومبیھ
The Olympic Games are an old competition. The first Olympic Games were held in Greece.
There have been many changes in the games. There used to be between seven and nine sports
in the Olympics. Things are completely different now. Some sports are no longer part of the
modern Olympic Games. In the past, athletes only used to practise hard for about ten months
before the Games. These days, athletes must work hard for years before the games. They win
medals for first, second or third place. In the past, winners were given only leaves. Today, the
Olympic Games are held in different countries. It's always a great achievement for athletes
to compete at the Olympics.
57-The Summer holiday أجازة الصیف
The summer holiday is very important for all of us, especially for teachers, students and
their families. They need to relax after the long
school year. They can do a lot of things during the summer holiday. They can visit many
interesting places in Egypt. They can visit the Pyramids in Giza. They can visit the Egyptian
Museum, the Citadel and the Cairo Tower in Cairo. They can go to the beach and enjoy
swimming in the sea. There are a lot of beautiful beaches in Egypt. In addition, they can go to
the club and practice a sport. They can also go to the public library to read books and stories.
To conclude, there is a lot to do in the summer.
58-What you should do to help your parents at home ماذا یجب فعلھ لوالدیك فى البیت
Our parents are the dearest people in our life. They look after us very well. They provide
us with all our needs so we should help our parents at home. We should help in the kitchen We
should tidy our rooms. We should sweep the floors. We should wash the dishes. We should
make our beds. Finally I love my parents very much. At home, I usually help my mother do
housework. I clean the curtains and sometimes do the vegetables. I sometimes go to the shops
for my mother. I learn how to iron my own clothes, tidy my bedroom and water the flowers.
Learning to depend on yourself doing many jobs will make you active and helpful.
59-Cleanliness(Hygiene) النظافة
Cleanliness is the duty of every person, every house, every state and every civilization, There
is no one who accepts to sit and speak or eat with someone who is not clean; cleanliness is a
sign of your health, and the health of any place where cleanliness is maintained in general.
The cleanliness brings the psychological comfort of the human being and the sense of
happiness, unlike the dirt , it brings diseases and unhappiness and frustration always, so you
should always maintain cleanliness in every place and time to avoid disease and laziness.
Keep your body clean by taking shower every day to keep your body clean and do not feel the
smell of sweat. Wear clean clothing to keep your look neat and beautiful.
60-Helping others مساعدة الآخرین
Helping others is not only good for them and a good thing to do, it also makes us happier and
healthier too. Giving also connects us to others, creating stronger communities and helping to
build a happier society for everyone. And it's not all about money - we can also give our time,
ideas and energy. So if you want to feel good, do good! You can donate money for poor people
and charities .and you can help elderly people to give them your seat in the bus or a train.13

My name is Mohammed Ayman. I am 15 years old. There is a serious community problem which
I want to solve. This problem is related to the school. A lot of students do not like the time
they spend at school. In this short article, I'm going to discuss the reasons and the solutions
of this problem. Students do not like school because they feel bored and exhausted. They
move from one subject to another. They are taught in traditional ways. They do not have the
chance to develop their talents. They are only listeners. To solve this problem, we need to
adopt new learning strategies, We must plan how to make learning useful and enjoyable at the
same time. Students need to be positive and show their abilities through different activities.

Reading is very useful because it provides us with a lot of information. It is very important,
too. It is my favourite hobby. I read for a lot of writers, but Naguib Mahfouz is my favourite
Egyptian writer. He was born in Cairo. He wrote a lot of books and stories. He wrote about
Cairo in the past. Some of his books and stories were made into films. I like to read his books
in my free time. I sometimes buy his stories from the bookshop or read it in the library. His
books were written in many languages. He also won the Noble Prize. He died in 2006.
63-Your last summer holiday . اجازة الصیف الماضى
Last summer, Tarek wanted to spend a holiday. He decided to spend a week on his
uncle's farm and another week on the seaside. First, he travelled with his parents to
Alexandria by train. They stayed at a nice hotel. Every morning, they went swimming and
enjoyed sitting on the beach. In the evening, they used to do shopping. After this week,
Tarek left his parents in Alexandria and travelled by bus to his uncle's farm. There, he spent
a very good day that was Sham el-Nessim. He spent it with his cousins. In the morning, they
ate boiled eggs for breakfast in the fields. In the evening they enjoyed singing and dancing
64- A review about El-Orman Garden حدائق الاورمان
Yesterday, I went on a trip to the El-Orman Garden! The garden opens at 9 am, and it takes
about an hour to get there by car. I went there with my family. Our reviews about that garden
are fantastic. The garden is very big and there is lots to see. You can see wild flowers and
plants from all over the country. There is also a small lake and a museum. There are a lot
of nearby restaurants and cafés where we could go for lunch. There is also a lovely shop near
the garden that sells pottery and jewellery!
65-Our neighbourhood الحى الخاص بنا
we all love our neighbourhood. The houses are all of great importance. Some of the houses are
old and built in great style. However, they became dirty and full of graffiti. Now, they need
painting. In our community meeting, we decided to improve these buildings and plant trees in
front of each house. Furthermore, we need to put rubbish bins to keep the area clean. I
encouraged all young people to help with our community project which takes a few months to
finish. As soon as we complete our task, our neighbourhood becomes very attractive and it may
be a tourist attraction.To conclude, we are still cleaning the area. So, we are looking for more
and more volunteers to help us complete the project.14
66-advice for exams.نصائح للامتحانات
I'm going to give you some advice to help you prepare for your exams. While studying, you
should eat food that gives you energy. You shouldn't eat sweets or drink cola. Sugar won't
help you study, but fruit and cereals will. Apples are such a good choice. Find comfortable
place where you study, but not too comfortable or you'll fall asleep! It is easier to study when
you are positive and relaxed. Now, if you start feeling anxious, have a little break. Go out for a
while and get some fresh air. Make notes of the main points and read them. Use past exam
papers to practise. They will help you understand what important points that are tested. Take
regular breaks while you're studying.

volunteering gives people an opportunity to change the lives of those they do and the lives of
those around them. Charity is of great importance in the progress of society, because it helps
to eradicate poverty, it also helps create jobs, and helps provide treatment for patients. You
can work in charities and help elderly people and donate money. Working as a volunteer gives a
person self-confidence and love for others. You can also make seats for people and put them in
the roads. My father also works in a volunteer, he works as a doctor and helps patients. In the
end, I love volunteering and serving the community and people

far from the beach. I was very scared. I was lucky when some people on a boat saw me. They
came to help me. They took me back to the beach. My dad was angry with me. I apologized and
learnt that I should go with an older person

My friend Karim has enjoyed windsurfing for about two years. He usually goes with his older
brother. A few months ago, he decided to windsurf alone. He did not tell his brother this. It
was windy, but that is good if you want to windsurf. In the afternoon, the wind suddenly
became very strong. The wind took Karim far from the beach. He was very scared. Some
people in a boat came to help Karim. After that, they took him back to the beach. Karim has
not windsurfed alone since that time. Now, he always windsurfs with an older person. He has

She meets the White Rabbit who is always busy and in a hurry. The Cheshire Cat is a funny
animal. He has got a big smile and he is very friendly. He tells Alice about Wonderland and
helps her to find different places and characters. The Queen of Hearts is not very
nice. She is a scary person. She is always angry and she shouts at people. Alice is brave.15

I always wanted to be part of a certain group of popular students. One day, they suggested
that we cyberbully a boy in my class called Eyad, so I wrote an unkind comment about him on
social media. I thought that my friends would think it was funny. I didn’t realise that they
were joking, and I was the only one to write an unkind comment. Eyad read my comment and
the next day he didn’t want to come to school. I had to tell my parents, and they couldn’t
understand why I did it. Then, the other students did not want to include me in their group.

When I was a child I used to have many toys and didn't use to share them with other children.
My parents told me many times to share my toys with others to enjoy playing more, but I

selfish and didn't share my things with them. I spent much time running behind the dog but I
didn't have my toy back. After that day, I learnt to stop being selfish and share my toys with others .

very surprised when it arrived! Mr Maher was very pleased by our kindness. Our
neighbourhood is very friendly and kind. We like to help each other

lots of interesting places .Last year,he went to Nigeria and Brazil. An business person must
invest all his energies and skills in order to achieve his dreams

Last week, our school went on a trip to the Pyramids. It was my first time to visit and see the
Pyramids. I spent a very beautiful day there. I enjoyed riding a camel and a horse. There were
lots of tourists. I spoke to them in English and it was really a good experience to improve my
English. The Pyramids were built by the ancient Egyptians thousands of years age. They are
really amazing. Our great ancient Egyptians were really great builders and engineers. I knew
they built the Pyramids at first as tombs for themselves. We took lots of photos there.

I had an experience I will never forget. I always like walking in the fields, on my own. My
mother used to advise me not to do so, but I thought I was right. One day, I was alone in
a faraway part of the fields. It was very early in the morning and there weren’t so many
farmers there. Suddenly, I saw a group of five or six large dogs in front of me. I wasn’t afraid
at all. When the dogs got nearer to me, I wasn’t afraid and I was standstill. After a minute,
the dogs moved away. To my surprise, I was being watched by the field owner.
He asked a worker to come and asked me to go to him. When I met him, he was happy that I
was brave and gave me some beautiful presents for both my parents and me.16

First of all, it is important to apologise when you do something wrong. It shows that
you are brave enough to face your mistakes. I write this story to say sorry about what
happened at school today. I have to say that I made a mistake. I didn't mean to make
my friend angry with me. My friends and I suggested that we cyberbully a boy in my
class. So I wrote an unkind comment about him on social media. I thought that my friends
would think it was funny. I didn't realise that they were joking, and I was the only one to
write an unkind comment. I had to tell my parents. I am so embarrassed about what
I did. I won't do what my friends suggest. I think I learnt a lot from this lesson.

award. Now she has her own company. She also gives speeches to help young engineers achieve

atschool, she came first in Egypt in the NASA International Space AppsChallenge, a problem
solving competition for scientists around the world. Later, she worked on a school project. She
found a natural way forvillages to clean dirty water and to recycle used water. The recycled
wateris used to help plants to grow, and the project can also help to stop waterpollution. She
sent her project to the Society for Science in the USA. In2021, her project won fourth place
in another international competition for science and engineering.17

Magdy Abdel Sayed is a campaigner for people who are disabled. He’s . been disabled all his
life. He’s done lots of amazing things, but he has had lots of challenges. As a child, he couldn’t

didn’t have the right equipment for disabled people. Magdy really wanted to go to school and
his parents wanted him to have a good education. They found a school for him and he was an
excellent student. Before he left school, he won an award from Cambridge University for his
achievements. After Magdy won the award, a lot of companies wanted to give him a job,but he
decided to go to university.

I was born in Cairo and I have lived there all my life. When I was little, I always loved to draw
and paint but I found reading and writing very difficult. At school, I didn't always understand
the lessons and it was really hard I thought I wasn't very clever. Then my parents and the
school decided to take me for some tests. They discovered that I had dyslexia. This means it
is difficult for my brain to read and spell. After that, I got more help at school and I started
to understand more. When I took my exams, I got really good results! I was surprised and
happy. Later, I got a prize for my art and then I decided I would like to be an artist one day.
Now, I volunteer at a charity for other children with dyslexia and teach them about art.18

years. He used to work in a special hospital in London. At this hospital, Magdy used to help to
give people new hearts for the first time. Before the 1980s, people with heart problems
often died. He stopped most of his work a long time ago, but in 2006, he started a charity to
help children with heart problems in Aswan. Very ill children didn't use to live long lives, but
many ill children can now live healthy lives.

As I was young, I had little experience in life. I had a lot of problems and I could not find
solutions for most of them. I wasted too much time of my life and regretted that. One day, I
met a friend who was older than me. His name is Hussein. Really, he is a great person. He
listened to all my problems carefully and told me about some of his own problems which were
a lot greater than mine. The strange thing that he faced all his problems with great
satisfaction and told me he always said Thanks God. He told me that the strong man is the
person who can face and overcome, not to give up. At last, he could solve all his problems by
working hard. I learned from him that the hard work is the only key to solve any problem.
